Reinforcement in corrosive environment
Structural armor for permanent applications in corrosive envirorments

Steel mesh, anchors strands as well as reinforcing steel bars are all subjected to corrosion. A particularly aggressive environment reduces durability of concrete structural elements, leading to serious maintenance costs. This problem which has been underestimated for years is of enormous importance, especially when linked to structures and infrastructures of a certain importance. A material with excellent features of durability can solve definitely this problem, decreasing in remarkable way the total cost of the structure (comprehensive of maintenance costs during its life cycle) if compared to the use of traditional reinforcement.
Fields of application for Glasspree® products in corrosive environment are the following:
- harbours, marinas, seaside walkways, offshore structures
- permanente piles and micropiles
- permanent anchors, soil nailing
- bridge slabs subjected to de-icing salt treatment during winter time
- concrete elements for chemical, petrochemical or water treatment plants
- sewage structures
- reinforcement of final lining of tunnels
- rehabilitation of final lining of existing tunnels
