HYDROS ® WP 60

Personal water purifier for drinkable water treatment: Approved by Ministero della Sanità, Dipartimento della prevenzione, protocollo n°: 400.4/18.10/A/1442
Description

The composite-structure HYDROS® WP 60 unit applies to the low-pressure reverse osmosis process to purify water. By exploiting the characteristics of special semi-permeable membranes, it removes organic pollutants (organo-halogenates, herbicides, pesticides, bacteria, etc.), inorganic pesticides (heavy metals, fluorides, silicates, etc.) from water, and eliminates unpleasant odours and flavours, with no need to add chemicals in accordance with current legislation, the unit basically consists of two parts:

  • A filter system.
  • A low-pressure reverse osmosis desalination system.

The inlet water to the HYDROS® WP60 unit is subjected to preliminary treatment to remove suspended particles. The preliminary treatment is performed with a forced filtration module (5 micron) and an activated carbon module.
The filtered water is pumped to a low-pressure polyamide reverse osmosis module. This system removes part of the dissolved salts (metal ions, calcium, magnesium, etc.) and organic compounds (nitrites, nitrates, etc.) from the water.

Two flows are conveyed from the reverse osmosis module:

  • A flow of purified water.
  • A flow of water in which all the pollutants are concentrated, which is sent to the drain.

The unit has a regulation device used to correct eventually the salinity, and especially the hardness of the water in accordance with the values required by current legislation, and an operating time counter required for the performance of scheduled maintenance operations. At last , it is equipped of non-return devices which prevent backflow of treated water into the mains and concentrated aqueous solution into the unit. All parts which come into contact with the water that flows through the unit are made of suitable materials in accordance with current legislation "for materials destined to come into contact with foodstuffs".

Installation

In view of its compact size, the HYDROS® WP 60 unit can be positioned under the kitchen sink. During installation, the couplings for hydraulic connections on the left-hand side of the unit must be left accessible. CONNECTION TO WATER SUPPLY 1) Connect mains pipe with a flexible coupling to the FEED WATER INLET connector on the outside of the unit, taking care to fit a stopcock (unless already present) 2) Connect the PURIFIED WATER OUTLET connector on the outside of the unit with a flexible coupling to the additional tap supplied 3) Connect the DRAIN WATER OUTLET on the outside of the unit to the sink waste pipe 4) Open valve on mains water distribution line. N.B. The unit is designed for connection to a drinking water supply with a pressure of not less than 0.7 bars and not more than 5 bars.

Wiring The HYDROS® WP 60 is designed for connection to a single-phase 230V/50Hz current. It is sufficient to plug the unit into a socket after checking that:

  • The mains power supply is 230 V, 50 Hz.
  • The electrical installation is efficiently earthed in accordance with current safety regulations.

Start up

  • Check that the valve (tap) on the mains water distribution line is open.
  • Plug in the unit to an earthed 230V/50 Hz socket.
  • Switch on the unit by turning the luminous switch on the front panel to the ON position (warning light on).
  • Turn on the tap on the sink. Check that the pump comes into operation.
  • Check the pressure gauge in the front panel to ensure that the unit is operating correctly (normal operating pressure 10-14 bars).
  • The unit will stop automatically when the tap on the sink is turned off.

N.B. At the first start – up of HYDROS® WP 60, the purified water has to be sent to drain for at least 10 minutes. This operation is necessary to clean the unit properly and for the complete removal of preservative and antibacterial solution which impregnate permeation module.

  • Use the SALINITY REGULATOR on the outside of the unit to set the salinity level according to current legislation. This operation must be performed by skilled personnel.

Trouble shooting

Low purified water flow

  • Check operating pressure (10 / 14 bar ).
  • Contact the CUSTOMER SERVICE for the cleaning or substitution of reverse osmosis module.

Low operation preassure

  • Check the feed water flow to the unit (minimum 300 litres/hour).
  • Check degree of filter clogging and change the filter.
  • Check that the pipes are not leaking.
  • Change the pump.

Warning light does not come on and unit not start

  • Power shortage.
  • Pheck plug and socket.
  • Check fuse on front panel of unit.

Routine maintenance

  • Check the correct operation of the unit through the manometer on the front side ( normal operating pressure 10 ÷ 14 bar).
  • Replace the filtering cartridge and the activated carbon every 200 OPERATING HOURS and in any case every 6 MONTHS.
