Mining
Composite material for mining industry.

Sireg products are used more and more in mines during the recent times. Most of the Durglass applications in the mining industry are connected to the following advantages :

Easy cut: special cuttable rockbolts have always been used in the traditional excavation methods, but they were commonly wooden or plastic elements, with limited strength and lengths. Durglass bolts and mesh systems are engineered to have a high tensile strength, custom lengths, light weights and easy-cutting feature. All these elements are perfect to fit with the requirements of modern mining methods.

Antistatic coating: Durglass bolts can be supplied with special antistatic behaviour. This is featured to avoid static electrical charges, which can be a source of dangerous sparks during operational processes, for example in coal mines.

Lightweight: Sireg bolts and meshes are 4 times lighter than common steel products. This feature generates an important transport cost saving and significant handling advantages on worksites. Durglass, in addition, is manufactured by fiber reinforced plastic. Spoil material, after excavation and cutting processes, can be easily removed from the minerals without expensive processes, because of Durglass low unit weight.

The range of products for mines includes synthetic rock-anchors and rock bolts for roof bolting, consolidation bolts for longwall excavation, Durglass bolts for strata support, fiberglass meshes to be applied on temporary cross passages and pemanent excavation faces.

Sireg company has been gaining over seventy years of experience contributing towards safer and more productive mining in the fields of tunnelling and underground strata control.
